First Regional Library is a five-county public library cooperative with fourteen branches located in Northern Mississippi. The Region was formed among DeSoto, Tate, Panola and Lafayette counties in 1950. Tunica County joined the System in 1968. The regional headquarters is located inside the branch in Hernando, MS, located about 20 miles south of Memphis, Tennessee. To learn more about us, visit our Wiki page.
Your First Regional Library card can be used at any of the fourteen branches in the system. Anyone who lives, works, owns property, or goes to school in one of the five counties is eligible for a free library card. We have NEW NO-FINES card options for kids! Borrower Card Application
To review your account or to renew items, you will need your PIN #. To get this number, call one of the library branches.
Most materials may be checked out for three weeks, although some types of materials have different loan periods. While there is no charge to check out library materials, overdue fines are applied when items are not brought back by their due date. Items can be renewed in person, by phone, or by logging into your account via the Internet (you must have your library card number and PIN to do this). If an item you have checked out is on hold for another person, you may not renew that item (this rule applies to any book borrowed through the Mississippi Library Partnership as well). You may use any library’s book drop for your after-open-hours convenience. You may return any item to any FRL branch location.
